2008 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Dear Friend,
 
We want to express our gratitude for your support and encouragement throughout the year for us and the organization, Los Angeles Habilitation House. Thank you. Some of you are Nancy's colleagues from DisneyToon Studios, of The Walt Disney Company, and thus recently acquainted with LAHH. Your excitement, encouragement, and beautiful sendoff for Nancy means a great deal as we embark to fulfill the mission.
  
The first program, Companionship of Work Janitorial, will commence October 1st, 2008.
 
Ten persons with disabilities will be invited to join our training program. Five out of ten will be offered full time employment, as a skilled, professional custodian. We will be training our crew on OS1, which is a measured and certified method of cleaning for office buildings, schools, and warehouses. OS1 pays particular attention to cleaning for health, using safe cleaning practices, and environmentally responsible chemicals. In order to fully implement the Companionship of Work Janitorial, we are initiating a capital campaign to raise $48,000 between September 1st and October 31st, 2008. This capital campaign is part of the $200,000 fundraising goal LAHH has for the first year of which a quarter we've already raised.
 
There are three major initiatives to the campaign:
 
Training Compensation - $3,000
Vehicles for transportation - $19,000
Equipment & Supplies for Janitorial - $26,000

The capital campaign also offers the possibly for naming recognition - we would be honored to put a name plaque on a particular piece of equipment or inside the training facility on a plaque for our Contributing Founders.
