The Beautiful Faces of LAHH
Thank you for your generosity and continuous donations to our mission.
How and where we train our employees with disabilities at LAHH is changing due to the new social distancing measures in place. We will be expanding training hours and locations to keep everyone safe and healthy. What we use to be able to do in one training session, will now take two training sessions at different locations.
We believe that training while employed is one of the key success factors for success, now and in the future, for people with disabilities, so we are committed and continuing to provide training. Thank you for your support for training!
We are seeing an opportunity for people with disabilities who have several years of experience in janitorial building services to provide detailed restroom cleaning, quickly, efficiently, and safely, leaving the restroom sanitized for employees and customers. We are pilot testing this service now and plan to roll it out to new and existing customers soon.

Thank you for your donations and friendship and sharing with us in this adventure!

AbilityOne Program Veterans with Disabilities Receive Accolades
The contract closeout team at Naval Medical Center in San Diego, which is comprised of veterans with disabilities from Los Angeles Habilitation House, received accolades for ensuring the successful return of all unliquidated obligations for fiscal 2014 before they expire on Sept. 30. This is a milestone that has been achieved in the last two years as well, with fiscal 2013 and 2012 funding. To celebrate, NMCSD's Department Head for Material Management and the Supervisory Contracting Officer held a congratulatory ceremony for the team. LAHH is a subcontractor to National Industries for the Blind, through the AbilityOne Program and has been employing veterans with disabilities since 2011 on this contract. There have been ten veterans with disabilities moving on in their career after gaining valuable skills and experience while working on the closeout team at NMCSD since the beginning.
Seeds of safety planted and growing!
Workers in the Jan-San industry face a variety of hazards - physical and environmental. According to the 2010 Bureau of Labor Statistics janitors suffered more than 46,000 injuries requiring days away from work and had the 16th highest injury rate of all occupations! Because of this, LAHH takes a proactive approach to Safety! Daily precautions are worked into the (OS1) Cleaning Program to protect our employees from harm. Training and standardizing procedures based on established laws and regulations are essential for the seeds of safety to grow, ensuring safety for everyone. This year at LAHH we took a further proactive step by creating a “Safety Award”.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
May your hearts and homes be filled with love, joy, peace, and goodness now and always. Thank you for your continuous love and support.
With Sincere Gratitude,
All of us at LAHH
